Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Calibration Chemist - Metrology to join our team at SGS Canada. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our calibration and metrology services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Calibration: Ensure all equipment is calibrated and qualified according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Labeling and Maintenance: Label equipment with the latest calibration and maintenance labels, and perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot instrumentation issues and provide technical expertise to resolve complex problems.
  • Instrument Qualification: Develop and execute instrument qualification protocols, including IQ, OQ, and PQ documents.
  • Calibration Scheduling: Maintain a calibration and preventative maintenance schedule to ensure all laboratory instruments are properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Procedure Development: Develop and formalize calibration procedures to ensure all laboratory instruments have calibration SOPs.
  • Testing and Maintenance: Perform calibration testing and preventative maintenance on analytical instruments, and monitor maintenance status to coordinate with external service technicians as needed.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related biological science.
  • Experience: 3-4 years of relevant pharmaceutical lab experience with emphasis on instrumental methods, and prior technical experience in a bio/chemistry related role.
  • Regulated Environment: Experience working in a regulated laboratory environment or pharmaceutical company, with implementation and support experience with laboratory instrumentation.
