Nurse Practitioner

Victoria General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team.
Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing professional nursing services to patients with complex and unpredictable health needs. This includes independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, leadership roles within the healthcare team, and facilitating coordination of patient care and discharge.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions.
- Administer prescribed medical treatments, including medications and therapies, as ordered by physicians.
- Lead and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure effective patient care and discharge planning.
- Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure seamless care coordination.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program.
- Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
- Experience in Surgery and Emergency/Observation is an asset.
- Knowledge of College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Registered Nurses, Canadian Nurses Association Code of Ethics for Registered Nurses, and Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to prioritize care for individual patients or groups of patients, respond to simultaneous demands, and adapt quickly to changing situations.
- Proficient in computer software programs, including Windows and Word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Competency in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
- Experience in leadership roles or quality improvement initiatives.
The Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with moderate to heavy physical effort required. The ability to maintain concentration with frequent interruptions and function in a demanding and stressful environment is essential.
