Job Description

This challenging role requires a licensed pharmacist with a strong background in patient-centered care and leadership. As an Interim Pharmacy Manager at Safeway, you will be responsible for:

  • Exceeding internal and external customer expectations by building strong relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions;
  • Executing pharmacy programs and product launches to promote patient service standards, drive sales, control labor, monitor margin, and control shrink;
  • Acting in the patient's best interest to implement and support patient-centered care through professional scope of practice and team delivery of company programs;
  • Inspiring a positive, patient-focused culture and experience, product availability, and customer service standards while developing and monitoring business plans to deliver on KPIs;
  • Actively engaging in all areas of Fusion to ensure seamless care and a consistent pharmacy experience across locations;
  • Being an ambassador to uphold and instill company values, including championing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, ensuring the pharmacy is an inclusive environment;
  • Managing the selection, onboarding, training, and development, performance management, and succession planning processes;
  • Building and maintaining strong team relationships in a supportive and motivating work environment that ensures an appropriate balance of labor with each team member working to full scope;
  • Ensuring all regulatory requirements and Company policies, processes, and procedures (e.g., OHS, Loss Prevention) are implemented in the department; and
  • Responsible to train staff and ensures adherence.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from a recognized institution;
  • Must be a Licensed Pharmacist, in good standing, in the province of responsibility;
  • Injection and First Aid Certification;
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a licensed pharmacist;
  • Kroll software experience is preferred;
  • Strong leadership and communication skills;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment;
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills;
  • High level of professionalism and integrity;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines;
  • Proven track record of driving results and achieving goals;
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills;
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities;
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays;
  • Reliable transportation or willingness to relocate to Vernon, BC.
