Primary Care Physician Opportunity

A challenging and rewarding opportunity exists for a Primary Care Physician to join our dynamic team at Mayflower Medical Clinic, located conveniently off the highway near Kearney Lake area just outside of downtown Halifax.
Responsibilities- Examine patients, take their histories, order diagnostic tests, and laboratory procedures as needed.
- Provide health care advice, promote healthy lifestyles, and prevent diseases through education and awareness.
- Consult with other medical practitioners to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Act as a patient advocate to provide support and guidance throughout their healthcare journey.
- Prescribe and administer medications, treatments, inoculations, and vaccinations as necessary.
- Report births, deaths, contagious diseases, and other public health concerns to the relevant authorities in accordance with Nova Scotia Public Health requirements.
This is a full-time position with an estimated 1.0 FTE schedule.
Qualifications and Requirements- Candidates must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS).
- Family physicians must also be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) is required.
This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a well-established group practice with experienced physicians and support staff. Our clinic utilizes an electronic medical record system and does not require on-call duties.
