About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager to join our team at CAE Inc. As a key member of our accounting and taxation department, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the data and accounting analysis in the preparation of US income tax returns and quarterly US income tax provisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the US Tax Director to oversee and manage detailed account analysis and compilation of work-paper documentation for US tax provisions and US income tax returns.
  • Review quarterly and annual US tax provisions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Review and analyze work-paper documentation for US income tax returns, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Oversee and manage US federal and state tax audits, ensuring timely and effective resolution of any issues that arise.
  • Assist the US Tax Director with tax planning for corporate reorganizations and M&A transactions, providing expert advice and guidance.
  • Organize and maintain tax records for special projects, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is readily available.
  • Review and analyze installments and periodic quarterly tax payments, information reporting, and other taxing authority requirements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the quarterly and annual tax calendar, ensuring timely and accurate preparation and submission of tax returns.
  • Organize and maintain tax records and conduct tax studies and special projects, including Earnings and Profits and corporate cost basis calculations.
  • Perform research associated with complex tax issues, providing expert advice and guidance to the team.
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience in a public accounting firm or industry.
  • Proficiency with tax research tools and online databases, including HFM accounting systems.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform successfully in a fast-paced, multi-task environment and meet compliance deadlines timely and independently.
  • US CPA or Canadian CPA designation is preferred, with strong knowledge and understanding of US Tax research tools databases and bookkeeping.
Language Skills

Ability to read and write reports and business correspondence in both French and English is required.
