Site Commodity Buyer

We are seeking a Site Commodity Buyer to join our Pomerleau civil engineering & infrastructure team. As a key member of our site buying process, you will collaborate closely with the mechanical superintendent and/or project manager to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of supplies.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of our large-scale construction projects, ranging from $1.5 million to over a billion dollars. You will be responsible for receiving purchasing requests, participating in daily coordination meetings, purchasing various construction materials, and researching quotes from local suppliers.

In this role, you will also be required to receive goods, replenish site inventory, follow up on out-of-stock products, reconcile delivery notes with purchase orders, and approve invoices. Additionally, you will organize occasional transport of materials and mechanical parts, obtain services of local subcontractors, and adhere to safety procedures to ensure compliance with company and industry standards.

• A valid CCQ card;
• An ASP Construction & WHMIS 2015 card;
• A minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position;
• AEC in procurement management and/or a DEC in accounting and management and/or equivalent experience;
• General knowledge of heavy equipment and civil engineering;
• Mastery of Excel software;
• Knowledge of site materials and construction tools;
• Sense of organization and priorities;
