The Automation Team Lead is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of all process control instrumentation and process control systems in the plant. This role requires a deep understanding of the purpose and operation of equipment throughout the plant, as well as the ability to make informed decisions based on sound judgment.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Troubleshoot and make minor and major repairs of equipment, including automation systems, to prevent or minimize equipment and machine downtime.
- Control Systems Management: Maintain the Control Systems hardware, software, along with programming additions and changes.
- Training and Development: Assist with training other Instrumentation/Programmers and other plant personnel.
- Installation and Repair: Perform electronic and instrumentation installations and repair tasks.
- Project Development: Assist Engineering and others in developing plans for instrumentation, automation systems for capital and other projects.
- Education: Red Seal Journeyman Instrumentation Mechanic or Instrumentation Technologist/Technician.
- Experience: Minimum of five years of Instrumentation, Automation experience. Food processing background is an asset.
- Skills: Thorough knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers and Control Systems. Preference for knowledge of DeltaV Scada, Foundation Field Bus, ASi Bus, DeviceNet, and Rockwell Automation products.
- Computer Skills: Well-developed computer skills.
- Communication: Ability to read and understand PIDs, schematics, and technical manuals. Ability to communicate verbally in a professional manner.
