Job Summary

The Automation Team Leader plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of all process control instrumentation and process control systems in the plant. This position requires a strong understanding of the purpose and operation of equipment throughout the plant, as well as the ability to make informed decisions based on sound judgment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoots and performs minor and major repairs of equipment, including automation systems, to prevent or minimize equipment and machine downtime.
  • Maintains the Control Systems hardware, software, and programming additions and changes to ensure optimal performance.
  • Provides training and assistance to other Instrumentation/Programmers and plant personnel to enhance their knowledge and skills.
  • Performs electronic and instrumentation installations and repair tasks to ensure seamless operation of plant systems.
  • Collaborates with Engineering and other teams to develop plans for instrumentation, automation systems, and capital projects.
Requirements
  • Red Seal Journeyman Instrumentation Mechanic or Instrumentation Technologist/Technician certification.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Instrumentation, Automation, with a food processing background being an asset.
  • Thorough knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers and Control Systems, with a preference for DeltaV Scada, Foundation Field Bus, ASi Bus, DeviceNet, and Rockwell Automation products.
  • Well-developed computer skills and ability to read and understand PIDs, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with colleagues and stakeholders.
