Located in the beautiful town of Parry Sound, ON, Tim Horton Memorial Camp is a dynamic and inclusive work environment that fosters personal and career growth. As a Youth Development Specialist - Outdoor Education, you will play a pivotal role in creating an unforgettable experience for youth aged 11-17.
Job SummaryThis exciting opportunity involves working as part of a close-knit team to design and deliver intentional camp programs that promote social, emotional, leadership, and innovation skills. You will be responsible for establishing meaningful relationships with campers, providing continuous care and support, and ensuring their overall well-being.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with youth from diverse backgrounds. A passion for outdoor education and a commitment to creating a safe and inclusive environment are essential qualities for this role.
Key Responsibilities:- Camp Programming: Design and deliver engaging camp programs that align with our mission and values, promoting skill development and personal growth.
- Youth Support: Provide individualized support to campers, addressing their unique needs and concerns, and fostering a sense of community and belonging.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to ensure seamless program execution, sharing expertise and knowledge to enhance the overall camp experience.
- Age:** At least 18 years old.
- Experience:** Proven experience working with youth aged 11-17, preferably in an outdoor education setting.
- Certifications:** Certified in Emergency First Aid + CPR (adult, child, infant) with AED, or willing to obtain.
- Availability:** Ability to live on-site for extended periods and work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Accommodation and Meals:** Provided for the duration of the contract.
- Contract Completion Bonus:** Receive a bonus upon successful completion of the contract.
