The Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto Scarborough invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in Political Philosophy, with a focus on healthcare policy. The appointment will be at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025.
We seek a candidate with a PhD degree in Philosophy or a closely related field, who has demonstrated excellence in research and teaching. The successful candidate will have established research expertise in healthcare policy and a proven track record of publishing in top-ranked journals. They will also have a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring students.
The ideal candidate will have a strong international reputation and be expected to sustain and lead innovative and independent research at the highest international level. They will also be expected to maintain an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program.
The successful candidate will provide evidence of research excellence, which can be demonstrated by a record of sustained high-impact contributions and publications in top-ranked and field-relevant journals, presentations at significant conferences, awards and accolades, and other noteworthy activities that contribute to the visibility and prominence of the discipline.
Evidence of excellence in teaching will be provided through teaching accomplishments, the teaching dossier submitted as part of the application, as well as strong letters of reference.
