About the Opportunity

The Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto Scarborough invites applications for a full-time tenure stream position in Political Philosophy, with established expertise in healthcare or health policy. The appointment will be at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2025.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and teach courses in Political Philosophy, with a focus on healthcare or health policy
  • Develop and maintain an outstanding, competitive, and externally funded research program
  • Contribute to the department's teaching and research mission, and participate in departmental and university service
  • Engage in academic and professional activities that promote the department's and university's reputation and excellence

Requirements

  • PhD degree in Philosophy or a closely related field
  • Established record of excellence in research and teaching
  • Specialization in Political Philosophy, with expertise in healthcare or health policy
  • International reputation and a strong track record of publications in top-ranked and field-relevant journals
  • Strong teaching and research statement, and a teaching dossier with required materials
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment
