About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled UEFI Firmware Engineer to join our Firmware Development Team at Lenovo. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining UEFI firmware for our next-generation server and storage systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design, develop, and maintain UEFI firmware for ARM-based platforms, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and secure solutions.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate UEFI firmware with system software and hardware.
  • Testing and Debugging: Conduct thorough testing and debugging of firmware to ensure high-quality and reliable solutions.
  • Industry Trends: Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in UEFI firmware, ARM processors, and related technologies.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of our firmware development processes and tools.
Requirements
  • Education: BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience: 6 years' minimum experience in Embedded Firmware/Software Development, with at least 6 years experience with the C programming language, and at least 5 years experience with firmware programming and debugging.
  • UEFI and ARM Experience: At least 2 years experience with UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) or BIOS, and at least 2 years experience with x86 and ARM processors.
  • Additional Skills: Previous experience with bring up and hardware boot sequence, and at least 6 years experience with Windows and Linux operating systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OpenEDK Experience: Experience with OpenEDK.
  • Version Control: Proficient with Git source version control system.
  • Agile Methodologies: Knowledgeable of Agile methodologies and tools.
  • Analytical and Debugging Skills: Strong analytical and debug methodology skills expected.
  • Problem-Solving: Proficient at recognizing complex problems related to functional objectives.
  • Creativity and Judgment: Applies creativity and judgment to developmental work on different projects within the business environment.
