Firmware Developer for PCIe Switches and UEFI Firmware

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Switch Firmware Engineer to join our Firmware Development Team in the Infrastructure Solutions Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining PCIe switch firmware for our next-generation server and storage systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Firmware Development: Design, develop, and maintain PCIe Switch firmware for servers, ensuring high-quality, reliable, and secure solutions.
  2. Collaboration and Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional, cross-organizational, and external vendor teams to integrate PCIe switch firmware with system software and hardware.
  3. Testing and Debugging: Conduct thorough testing and debugging of firmware to ensure high-quality and reliable solutions.
  4. Industry Trends and Advancements: Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in UEFI firmware, GPU technologies, and accelerators.
  5. Process Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of our firmware development processes and tools.
Requirements
  1. Education: BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.
  2. Experience: 6 years' minimum experience in Embedded Firmware/Software Development.
  3. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of Network topologies, experience with the PCIe architecture, testing, and integration, firmware programming and debugging, hardware and firmware bringup, Git source version control system, Build and Automation process, Batch and Bash scripting capability, experience with translating schematics to source code, and integrating source code from external vendors.
  4. Preferred Qualifications: At least 2 years experience with UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) or BIOS, experience with x86 and ARM processors, experience with Windows and Linux operating systems, experience with OpenEDK, intimate knowledge of software development processes, knowledgeable of Agile methodologies and tools, strong analytical and debug methodology skills, proficient at recognizing complex problems related to functional objectives, and applies creativity and judgment to developmental work on different projects within the business environment.
