Software Development Leader

mdf commerce Inc. is a global leader in developing software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions that optimize commercial interactions between buyers and sellers. Our platforms and services empower businesses worldwide, generating billions of dollars in transactions annually.

We are looking for a Software Architect to contribute to the development of our eprocurement sector. As a member of our team, you will analyze, design, and evolve the architecture of our software products, ensuring consistency with current and future needs.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Contribute to dev projects to solve architectural challenges.
  2. Support the re-architecting and transitioning to the Cloud of our software modules and services.
  3. Design and participate in the programming of key or complex segments.
  4. Support the development manager in defining and implementing the business unit's technological roadmap.
  5. Accompany and guide business analysts in analyzing needs and defining technological solutions.
  6. Conduct studies, positioning, feasibility, and detailed design phases, making technological recommendations.
  7. Develop, implement, and apply conceptual and logic models, design, implementation, and integration strategies.
  8. Ensure cross-functional coordination and provide required support and follow-ups.
  9. Coordinate activities for quality, performance, reliability, availability, and continuous improvement of systems and technological solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10+ years of programming experience.
  • Experience designing robust, scalable, highly available in-house/infrastructure/hybrid infrastructures.
  • Knowledge of development tools/environments, e.g., Java, Tomcat, Spring framework, Hibernate.
  • Experience working with SaaS, web application infrastructure, and AWS cloud applications/services.
  • Good knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools, e.g., Docker, Kubernetes & ECS Fargate.
  • Experience with microservice and micro frontend architectures.
  • Good knowledge of programming with Java and scripting languages, e.g., Python, NodeJS.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, e.g., Oracle and Postgres.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships.
  • Time and priority management.
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Fast learner, highly motivated, and responsible.
  • Bilingual (French/English).

What sets you apart?

  • Good knowledge of ELK technologies and monitoring tools, e.g., Grafana & Prometheus.
  • Good knowledge of CI/CD pipeline, e.g., GitLab, Spinnaker, CloudFormation, Terraform.
  • Experience in architecture client-side technologies, e.g., JSP, React, JavaScript.
