About the Role

Brock University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Lab Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of clinical skills in nursing students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with faculty to design and implement lab content for nursing courses, ensuring alignment with learning outcomes.
  • Develop and instruct lab components, including clinical simulations, to enhance student learning and psychomotor skill development.
  • Provide direct support to students in the lab, focusing on facilitating learning and skill development.
  • Assist in managing online lab content and participating in clinical simulations.
  • Support students in skill review and practice, facilitating remediation when necessary.
  • Communicate with faculty and clinical instructors to provide progress reports and identify knowledge barriers.
  • Maintain lab cleanliness and troubleshoot equipment, reporting repair needs as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Currently registered (or eligible for same) as a RN and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent clinical experience, preferably in in-patient acute or chronic care areas with demonstrated teaching experience.
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting simulation and lab equipment.
  • Utilization of critical thinking and clinical expertise to design and facilitate clinical simulations.
  • Advanced communication skills, including active listening, clear explanation, and coaching abilities.
  • Flexibility, enthusiasm for student learning, and strong support for colleagues.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, including time management and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in Nursing, Education, or a closely related field.
  • Experience with simulated laboratory learning or certification(s) related to simulation-based learning.
  • Maintenance and care of simulation and medical equipment.
What We Offer
  • Job Grade (L), Salary Scale ($62,580-$107,280).
  • Target Hiring Range: $62,580-$80,000.
