Nursing Lab Coordinator

Brock University is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursing Lab Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of clinical skills in nursing students.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with faculty to design and implement lab content for nursing courses, ensuring alignment with learning outcomes.
- Develop and instruct lab components, including clinical simulations, to enhance student learning and psychomotor skill development.
- Provide direct support to students in the lab, focusing on facilitating learning and skill development.
- Assist in managing online lab content and participating in clinical simulations.
- Support students in skill review and practice, facilitating remediation when necessary.
- Communicate with faculty and clinical instructors to provide progress reports and identify knowledge barriers.
- Maintain lab cleanliness and troubleshoot equipment, reporting repair needs as required.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Current registration as a RN and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Minimum of two (2) years of recent clinical experience, preferably in in-patient acute or chronic care areas with demonstrated teaching experience.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting simulation and lab equipment.
- Utilization of critical thinking and clinical expertise to design and facilitate clinical simulations.
- Advanced communication skills, including active listening, clear explanation, and coaching abilities.
- Flexibility, enthusiasm for student learning, and strong support for colleagues.
- Graduate degree in Nursing, Education, or a closely related field.
- Experience with simulated laboratory learning or certification(s) related to simulation-based learning.
- Maintenance and care of simulation and medical equipment.
