Job Summary

We are looking for a highly experienced and knowledgeable Legal Counsel to provide expert advice on commercial law, contract negotiation, and project development. The successful candidate will have a strong background in construction law and a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on commercial law, contract negotiation, and project development
  • Review and draft contracts, agreements, and other legal documents
  • Assist with the negotiation of contracts and agreements with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with projects
  • Provide training and support to project teams on commercial law and contract management
  • Work closely with project teams to ensure compliance with laws and regulations
Requirements
  • Current license to practice law in Ontario and member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
  • ~8+ years of post-call experience at a well-respected law firm or in-house construction legal department
  • Superior written and oral communication and interpersonal skills in complex and at times adversarial situations
  • Sound judgement and legal reasoning, excellent analytical skills, and creativity in solving problems
