Job Title: Fire Safety Officer

Job Summary:

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a highly skilled Fire Safety Officer to join our team. As a Fire Safety Officer, you will be responsible for supporting the HSSEQ department in a field inspection and office capacity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and audit field operations against TransitNEXT policy, systems, and legislation.
  • Provide safety orientation sessions to employees.
  • Compile statistical information for the HSSEQ department.
  • Enter information into Atkins Realis systems and update all databases.
  • Lead the management of injured workers and the return-to-work process.
  • Carry out compliance auditing of contractors.
  • Implement, maintain, and ensure the effective operation of the M&R Safety Management Plan.
  • Ensure that OHS audits are implemented as planned and as required by the Project Agreement.
  • Address non-conforming issues or improvements identified through OHS audits or inspections.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training plan to provide all personnel awareness of hazards in the workplace.
  • Maintain a system to verify personnel certifications and ensure they are in place and valid.
  • Develop and implement safe work procedures to protect personnel from hazards created by M&R activities.
  • Lead regular safety meetings held at various levels of the M&R organization.
