Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join our Engineering Projects Department at the Vancouver Airport Authority. This is a permanent, full-time opportunity that will play a key role in the implementation and management of design and construction projects.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing assigned capital and investment projects, including developing project requirements, project scope, budget, and schedule. They will also prepare and deliver on project implementation plans in collaboration with YVR stakeholders and Airport Operations and Maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage project requirements, scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Prepare and deliver project implementation plans in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Manage design teams to develop contract documents and meet desired project outcomes.
  • Maintain and manage construction contracts, schedules, and project budgets.
  • Liaise with internal Airport Authority departments and external stakeholders throughout the projects.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a university degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of ten years' relevant experience in the design, construction, or consulting industry.
  • Registered or ability to register with the Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC).
  • Knowledge of construction industry practices and standards.
  • Strong project management, organization, and knowledge of contract law and contract administration processes.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
