Aecon is seeking an experienced Construction Estimation Specialist to join the GO Rail Expansion project in the Greater Toronto Area.

Job Description

This is a transformational project that requires an individual with extensive experience in construction estimating, including civil, structures, track, and stations.

  • Develop meticulous bills of quantities (BOQ) by leveraging experience and employing advanced techniques such as Bluebeam.
  • Utilize expertise in design models and integrated digital delivery (IDD) software for precise project scope evaluation and quantity generation.
  • Obtain competitive pricing from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising on quality.
  • Research historical data, such as purchase orders, subcontracts, productivity analysis, benchmarking, and reports, to compile insightful summary reports and establish robust estimating guidelines for the project.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Over 7 years of hands-on experience as an estimator in the construction industry, with a proven track record of successfully estimating projects of significant scale and complexity.
  • Solid educational foundation with a university degree or technical college diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • In-depth understanding of construction methodologies, contracts, and cost control techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency in standard Microsoft software (Excel, Word, etc.).

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience, plus comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as retirement savings plan and employee assistance program.
