DevOps Systems Administrator – Linux

Overview:

The client is a leading provider of enterprise services, delivering solutions to 23,000 customers in 90 countries. Their infrastructure teams are looking for a skilled Linux Systems Administrator to maintain reliable Linux systems, with a strong focus on automation, performance, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, update, and monitor Linux systems
  • Support multiple on-premises environments
  • Scale and manage infrastructure with high throughput, availability, and storage requirements
  • Automate tasks and processes to improve efficiency

Requirements:

  • Experienced Linux system administrator with knowledge of bare metal, VM, and orchestrated deployments
  • Ability to analyze complex systems and problems, and express them in simple terms
  • Strong problem-solving skills and initiative to improve processes
  • Excellent self-motivation and teamwork skills
  • Organized, thorough, and detail-oriented, with a focus on the bigger picture

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.)
  • Experience with automation and configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Salt, Fabric, etc.)
  • SQL administration skills (Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
  • Containerization experience (Docker, Podman, etc.)
  • Networking experience (DNS, VLANs, etc.)
  • Experience with web servers and load balancers (Apache, Nginx, HAProxy, etc.)
  • Monitoring and logging infrastructure (Zabbix, Splunk, ELK, Graphite, Grafana, Prometheus, etc.)

Salary/Rate Range: $90,000—$130,000 CAD
