Job Overview


We are seeking an experienced Retail Cashier to join our team at Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of all transactions.



Salary


The successful candidate can expect a competitive hourly wage of $18.11, with opportunities for advancement and increased earnings potential after completing a probationary period. Additionally, employees who work night shifts may be eligible for a premium rate of $1.00 per hour.



About the Role


As a Cashier, you will be working in a fast-paced environment where you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expand your career opportunities. Your primary responsibilities will include accurately verifying, reconciling, and processing currency and chip transactions. You will also be responsible for counting and verifying opening and closing floats for all coin, currency, chips, and marketing items.



Key Responsibilities



  • Count and verify opening and closing floats for all coin, currency, chips, and marketing items.
  • Exchange foreign and domestic currency.
  • Counts cash and value chips according to company policies and procedures.
  • Records transactions in Casino Management Software and verifies printed reports.


Requirements and Qualifications



  • A minimum of six months of cash-handling experience.
  • Ability to add, multiply, and balance floats and spreadsheets.
  • DealUs In (Phase 1) and Reel Facts VLT training available within 30 days of start (Alberta).
  • The ability to obtain registration with either the BCLC, AGLC or AGCO (based on province).
  • Ability to pull, lift, and carry objects such as a cashier tray and can transport a heavy cart.
  • Ability to stand for long periods.
  • Good manual dexterity to accurately handle cash, tickets, and chips.
  • A friendly, polite, patient and courteous energy.
  • Ability to work on your feet and provide solutions quickly.
  • Open to working flexible hours, evenings, and weekends.
