Job Summary
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) for BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the strategic and operational direction of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership on strategic and operational issues in planning, monitoring, and evaluating province-wide emergency health services.
- Oversee the BC Ambulance Service (BCAS) and Patient Transfer Services (PTS) to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Develop and implement workforce strategies to improve response times and service quality.
- Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Chief, People, Culture and Diversity (CPCD) to drive system-wide improvements and innovation in emergency health services.
- Ensure patient and employee safety is a top priority through continuous quality and safety improvement initiatives.
Requirements
The COO must have a strong background in healthcare leadership, strategic planning, and operational management. They must be able to work effectively in a collaborative environment and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
