Job Description

The Network Analyst will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and evaluating existing network systems, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and Internet systems. They will also perform network maintenance to ensure that these systems operate correctly with minimal interruption.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot network systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Design, implement, and manage network solutions to meet organizational needs.
  • Configure and define parameters for the installation or testing of LANs, WANs, routers, switches, firewalls, controllers, wireless systems, SD-WAN, PTP, PMP radio systems, or related networking equipment.
  • Proactively identify and report current and potential capacity, routing, traffic management, and cybersecurity issues, along with proposed solutions and a remediation timeline and plan to ensure optimal network performance.
  • Organize and schedule network maintenance in accordance with internal scheduling policies for service-affecting work, ensuring customers and all internal stakeholders are properly notified and aware of potential outage times and durations in advance.
  • Remotely troubleshoot and repair all network-related issues in collaboration with the Network Operations Centre and Field Teams.
  • Ensure network/cyber security by implementing and managing firewalls, VPNs, IDS, IPS, EDR, and other security measures.
  • Document and upkeep all network devices, routing tables, login credentials (usernames and passwords for all network devices, software, etc.).
  • Configure, maintain, and support internal and external Windows network environments, Office 365, Active Directory, Azure AD, SharePoint in a hybrid environment.
  • Assist with on-premises server infrastructure, VMware, Hyper-V, Bare Metal, server backups, server patching.
  • Assist with the development, documentation, and enforcement of network policies and procedures.
  • Create and disseminate regular network health and performance reports to the management team.
  • Coordinate with vendors for hardware and software procurement, maintenance, and upgrades.
  • Participate in on-call duties.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should have the following qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a network analyst or similar.
  • Post-secondary education/experience in Computer Science, Network Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of FortiGate firewalls, Cisco networks, and Office 365.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or ITIL4 are a plus.
  • Experience with VMware virtualization technologies.
