Job Summary

The Culinary Specialist will be responsible for coordinating special events, determining food portions and costs, planning menus, and supervising kitchen staff. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment and be able to work under pressure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Execution
    • Plan and prepare menus for special events and daily operations
    • Determine food portions and costs to ensure profitability
  • Kitchen Operations
    • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure efficient food preparation and service
    • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food
  • Inventory Management
    • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment
    • Order supplies and equipment as needed
  • Customer Service
    • Prepare and cook special meals for customers with food allergies or intolerances
    • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and safety
Requirements
  • Education
    • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience
    • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a kitchen environment
  • Skills
    • Excellent oral communication and teamwork skills
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Knowledge of Cantonese cuisine and cooking techniques
