About the Role

The Carpenter provides skilled craftsmanship in carpentry to complete construction, inspect, maintain and repair according to work orders and plans. This role is part of the Buildings & Grounds team in Facilities Services, supporting the daily maintenance and operations of the campus.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret plans and construction drawings and building code
• Perform journeyman level skills in carpentry, including construction, inspection, maintenance and repair
• Collaborate with the team to support maintenance, projects and events on campus

Qualifications

• Red Seal Carpenter Certification and/or TQ (Trade Qualification) Certification
• Five years of related experience in areas such as building construction, joinery or maintenance, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
• Valid BC driver's license (Class 5)
• Basic computer skills required
