Job Title: Structural Engineer - Campbell River
Aecon, a leading Canadian construction company, is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team in Campbell River, British Columbia. This role will provide an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development in a dynamic and challenging environment.
About the Job:
We are currently working on the John Hart Dam Seismic Upgrade project, a $245 million dollar contract awarded by BC Hydro. As a Structural Engineer with Aecon, you will be responsible for designing and implementing temporary structures, collaborating with external engineers and internal teams, and conducting quality checks on completed work.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Working closely with the field team to understand their needs and prepare concepts and designs for all required temporary structures.
- Collaborating with external engineers and the internal team to create detailed technical drawings and schematics.
- Completing temporary works designs to include concrete formwork, critical lift plans, worker access, etc.
- Creating and finalizing shop fabrication drawings including custom fabrication and design.
- Material take off and generation of bill of materials.
- Conducting quality checks on completed work to identify any errors or discrepancies.
- Supporting all projects through the fabrication process or temporary and permanent steel structures.
- Designing, planning, and supervising all structural work.
- Providing status and progress reports to customers, project teams, and management.
- Interfacing with client representatives, design engineers, consultants, and other contractors.
- Ensuring the project is constructed in accordance with QA Programs and project quality.
- All other duties as assigned.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you should have a post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation, and at least 3-5 years of structural experience, preferably on large infrastructure projects. Experience on Hydroelectric Dams would be considered an asset. You should also have a working knowledge of Worksafe BC regulations, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong organizational and time management skills, and the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
Salary: We offer a competitive salary range of $110,000 - $140,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for career advancement.
