Job Title: IT Project Manager

The City of Red Deer is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage project portfolios, ensuring alignment with business objectives and strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement project management plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including IT leadership, business units, and external vendors, to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Perform business process analysis and re-engineering to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Utilize project management tools and methodologies, such as PMBOK, BABOK, and Agile.
Requirements:
  • 2-year post-secondary degree in Business or Technical field.
  • 5 years of experience in a comparable position, including 2 years of experience working with large-volume business systems, managing a medium-sized project portfolio, and managing large-scale, complex technology implementation or maintenance projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with departmental staff, other City departments, customers, outside vendors, and consultants.
  • Strong technical documentation skills, with ability to work independently or in a team situation in a collegial atmosphere.
  • Ability to work in a demanding and frequently stressful environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in PMBOK, BABOK, or Agile Project Management practices.
  • Experience working in a municipal government environment.
  • Providing end-user consulting and/or training.
  • Working knowledge of enterprise-class application systems, hardware platforms, and network management systems.
  • Working knowledge of web applications, enterprise-class database systems, and geographic information systems.
What We Offer:
  • $54.81 to $57.69 per hour.
  • 75 hours biweekly, Monday to Friday, with some evening and weekend work may be required when needed.
