Emergency Department Mental Health Liaison Nurse

Job Description:Salary: $41.42 - $55.91 per hourThis role is based at Sechelt Hospital, an acute care facility that serves over 30,000 residents of the Lower Sunshine Coast. As an Emergency Department Mental Health Liaison Nurse, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive assessments, crisis interventions, stabilization, and care planning for patients with mental health and substance use presentations.
You will be responsible for providing culturally safe, trauma-informed patient-centered care while screening, triaging, providing treatment, referring to case management if appropriate, and teaching self-care management principles, including harm reduction. You will also work in partnership with clients, families, and relevant clinical care partners to ensure seamless service delivery across the continuum of care.
Required Skills and Qualifications:- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Three years' recent related experience providing treatment services to individuals within the designated client population with mental health and substance use presentations.
- Valid BC Driver's License. Local area travel will require the use of a personal vehicle.
