About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in a project management capacity. As a key member of our Environmental Remediation team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality geotechnical engineering services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide geotechnical project management and technical support for ongoing AECOM projects.
  • Work with other geotechnical staff to provide geotechnical project management and design services to current and prospective clients.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with client contacts, suppliers, subcontractors, engineering consultants, and other external agencies.
  • Conduct field investigations, including borehole drilling and forensic geotechnical assessments.
  • Prepare proposals for medium to high complexity projects.
  • Carry out geotechnical analysis, design, and reporting for transportation, municipal, building, environmental, and energy projects.
Requirements
  • University graduate with a degree in geotechnical, geological, or civil engineering.
  • Currently registered as a Professional Engineer in Ontario or other provinces.
  • Minimum 6 years of industry experience in providing practical civil and geotechnical engineering services.
  • Previous experience working in an engineering consulting environment.
  • Class G driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of rock mechanics engineering and project experience.
  • MTO medium to high complexity project experience.
  • Postgraduate degree in engineering.
  • Proficiency with geotechnical software.
  • Knowledge of pavement engineering principles.
  • Previous experience conducting geotechnical works in the field.
  • Construction oversight, QA/QC, contract administration.
  • Coordination of designs with drafting teams.
  • A strong commitment to safety.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational ability, manage multiple projects, and deliver on time and on budget.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Proposal writing, job scoping, project plans.
  • Highly developed written communication, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • High level of initiative and enthusiasm for getting things done.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
