Black & McDonald's Western Utilities team is expanding its capabilities. We are seeking a skilled Electrical Superintendent to lead our Traffic Signal team in Edmonton, AB. This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative professional to contribute to a hard-working, innovative team.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and lead a team of construction electricians in the construction and maintenance of traffic signals and streetlights.
- Plan, schedule, and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring safe completion and meeting productivity goals.
- Read and interpret traffic designs, electrical, and construction drawings/plans, as well as project documents.
- Provide leadership and direction for activities such as planning, organizing, installing, and commissioning of on-site projects.
- Responsible for the installation of traffic signals, conduits, raceways, steel structures, cabling, LED traffic signals, hardware, road loops, video detection, communications, pre-emption, and NEMA Traffic Controls standard TS2 Type 1.
- Assist with streetlight installations and repairs.
- Maintain records of all maintenance activities in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Journeyman Construction Electrician certification.
- Five or more years' experience in traffic signal field experience, directly in construction and maintenance, as an electrical team lead.
- IMSA Certification Level 2 - minimum.
- LRT signalling and power traction is an asset.
- Master Electrician certificate is an asset.
