Family Medicine Opportunity in Edson

We are seeking a dedicated Family Medicine physician to join our team in Edson, Alberta.

As a community-based Family Physician, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive primary care services to patients in the Edson community. This role will involve working collaboratively with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care and contributing to the growth and development of our community's healthcare system.

The ideal candidate will have recent hands-on experience in all areas of family medicine, including emergency medicine, inpatient and outpatient services, and long-term care. A strong commitment to rural practice and a willingness to work independently are essential for this role.

About the Role

This full-time opportunity offers a competitive salary range of $300,000 - $400,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including medical and dental coverage, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.

  • Reside in and have as your primary residence within the Edson community.
  • Establish and maintain a full-time community-based practice within the Edson area.
  • Obtain and maintain an Alberta Health Services Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide services.
  • Provide call assistance as required, including participation in the Emergency Department call schedule.
  • Abide by the Alberta Health Services Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules, and policies.
  • Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Department of Family Medicine.
  • Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs.
  • Contribute to administrative duties, as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues to support patient care.

To be successful in this role, you must have a valid Alberta Practice Permit or a CPSA Letter of Eligibility to practice in the advertised position. Recent hands-on experience in all areas of family medicine is essential, as well as certifications such as Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP), and College of Family Physicians of Canada – Emergency Medicine (CCFP-EM).
