Job Title: Chair of Justice Studies

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced individual to fill the role of Chair of Justice Studies at the University of Guelph-Humber. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the academic and administrative affairs of the program, ensuring its relevancy, competitiveness, and currency in the field of study.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a vision for the program that ensures industry needs are met and the quality of the learning environment is maintained.
  • Lead the curriculum development and revision process, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure relevancy and currency of the program content.
  • Manage the operating budget, monitoring expenditures and maintaining records to ensure expenditures do not exceed available funds.
  • Participate in University committees as required, contributing to the development of academic policies and procedures.
  • Lead the processes related to cyclical evaluation of the program and external registration requirements.
  • Responsible for initiatives that support student engagement and success, and contributes to resolving complex student matters.
Qualifications:
  • A master's degree in Justice Studies or a closely related field.
  • Industry or professional work experience specifically related to the field.
  • 5-9 years of extensive postsecondary experience, including teaching, scholarly work, coordination, and administration.
  • Demonstrated administrative capability, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
