Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced IT Business Applications Manager to join our IT department. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing business process requirements, identifying application solutions, and implementing technology to improve business efficiency and success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess business process requirements and identify application solutions to improve business efficiency and success.
  • Manage a portfolio of business applications and associated projects, including identifying opportunities for optimization, redesign, or process improvement.
  • Provide administrative support across business applications as needed.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, vendors, and IT management to provide a strategic vision for new and supported applications and create system roadmaps and business processes.
  • Address the various needs, concerns, and expectations of stakeholder groups in planning and executing projects, meeting project requirements, and creating project deliverables.
  • Balance competing project constraints, including scope, quality, schedule, budget, resources, and risks, to accommodate the needs of each user/customer.
  • Build a strong technical culture around our business systems that emphasizes technical excellence, rapid iteration, strong security, and frictionless user experiences.
  • Manage application maintenance outsourcing and software contract agreements, including implementing and monitoring standards around scope management, financial management, service level agreements (SLA), and ensuring compliance to mitigate risk, increase service/business impact, and reduce costs.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of current work experience as an IT Business Applications Manager within a mid-size to large organization.
  • Experience with managing ready-made business applications, in-house developed software, IT business analysts, and software developers.
  • Experience directly managing individuals and directly managing a team of 5 or more would be an asset.
  • Experience working within a legal environment would be an asset.
