Job Summary

We are seeking an IT Business Applications Manager to join our IT department. This role will involve assessing business process requirements, identifying application solutions, and staying up-to-date with the latest software development trends to improve business efficiency and success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage an application portfolio and associated projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for business application optimization, redesign, or process improvement, focusing on collaboration systems and internal tools.
  • Provide administrative support across business applications as needed, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, vendors, and IT management to provide a strategic vision for new and supported applications, creating system roadmaps and business processes.
  • Address the various needs, concerns, and expectations of stakeholder groups in planning and executing projects, meeting project requirements, and creating project deliverables.
  • Balance competing project constraints, including scope, quality, schedule, budget, resources, and risks, to accommodate the needs of each user/customer.
  • Build a strong technical culture around our business systems, emphasizing technical excellence, rapid iteration, strong security, and frictionless user experiences.
  • Manage application maintenance outsourcing and software contract agreements, implementing and monitoring standards around scope management, financial management, service level agreements (SLA), ensuring compliance to mitigate risk, increase service/business impact, and reduce costs.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of current work experience as an IT Business Applications Manager in a mid-size to large organization.
  • Experience with managing ready-made business applications, in-house developed software, IT business analysts, and software developers.
  • Experience directly managing individuals and directly managing a team of 5 or more would be an asset.
  • Experience working within a legal environment would be an asset.
  • Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and communicate with all levels of the Firm.
  • PMP and ITIL certifications are desirable.
