Job Title: Grade 7 Mandarin Teacher

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Mandarin language educator to join our team at Trudeau Elementary School. As a Grade 7 Mandarin Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching Mandarin language and culture to students in grades 7.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in teaching Mandarin language and culture, with experience in lesson planning, classroom management, and assessment. You will be expected to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student engagement and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach Mandarin language and culture to students in grades 7
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a Bachelor of Education
  • Recent contract teaching experience in an intermediate enrolling class
  • Fluency in Mandarin is required
  • Knowledge of Pinyin phonetics and traditional Chinese characters is an asset
  • Membership in or eligible to become a member of the Teacher Regulation Branch (TRB)
  • Registration with the Teacher Qualification Service (TQS)
