You will work closely with our construction, purchasing, and marketing teams to ensure that our designs are aligned with our business goals. Additionally, you will be responsible for mentoring junior designers and reviewing their work to ensure consistency and quality. Responsibilities:

* Prepare and oversee detailed designs and working drawings for residential projects
* Function as a resource for technical questions related to design and construction
* Perform daily production workload activities to meet production timelines
* Work independently and with a team on multiple projects to find efficiency in design
* Review and discuss onsite construction issues as they arise
* Formulate documents for Building Permit Submissions
* Work with the design team to review, develop, and analyze scopes of work
* Maintain CAD standards and plan consistency for all master files
* Assist in staying current by searching for new products and creating new designs
* Be an integral part of the housing team by working closely with other team members
* Mentor junior and intermediate designers on pre-construction processes
* Plan checks and checking other designers' work
* Assist manager with product development
* Interior and exterior palette selections and maintenance

Requirements:

* Postsecondary education in Architectural Technologies (Residential Stream)
* 8+ years of progressive experience in residential home design
* Extensive knowledge of home building, estimating, construction building materials, and building code standards
* LEED accreditation would be an asset
* Highly proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
