Your Opportunity:

Lethbridge is a thriving hub for adventure, agriculture, heritage, history, cuisine, and 200 km of walking/biking trails. Just a short drive away are rugged Badlands and majestic Rocky Mountains. As an Occupational Therapist with Alberta Health Services, you will be primarily based working on the acute care units. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive assessment, consultation, and treatment programs for clients within various programs. You must have the ability to collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to provide effective client care and appropriate discharge planning as this is an essential part of this role.

Description:

As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide evidence-informed services, with a focus on occupational performance designed to meet the needs of individuals, groups, or a community. You may act as a direct service provider, consultant, educator, or advocate and function as an integral healthcare team member. You will engage individuals, groups, and communities to enable meaningful and chosen occupations, including self-care, productivity, and leisure. You will support clients to achieve optimum functional abilities and independence related to their cognitive, affective, spiritual, and physical strengths and limitations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive assessment, consultation, and treatment programs for clients within various programs
  • Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to provide effective client care and appropriate discharge planning
  • Act as a direct service provider, consultant, educator, or advocate and function as an integral healthcare team member
  • Engage individuals, groups, and communities to enable meaningful and chosen occupations
  • Support clients to achieve optimum functional abilities and independence
Required Qualifications:
  • Completion of bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program
  • Registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in acute care
