We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Research and Development - Food Processing to join our team at Skjodt-Barrett Foods. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the development of new food products and processes that meet the needs of our customers and the market.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement product development strategies that align with business objectives and market trends.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the technical aspects of product development, including investigation, planning, execution, evaluation, and reporting.
- Manage and mentor the product development team, identifying gaps in skills and working closely with individuals to build their strengths.
- Develop and implement effective systems and procedures to manage multiple projects in the sales and innovation pipeline.
- Ensure all new and existing products meet regulatory requirements, quality standards, and customer specifications.
- Stay informed about market trends and emerging ingredients to guide the development of innovative products.
- Background in Food Science and experience in the food processing industry, specifically in product design and development.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and creating and implementing product development strategies.
- Ability to work in a high-speed manufacturing facility and participate in trials.
- Technical knowledge of ERP systems (e.g. D365 or SAP) to contribute to driving material demands and production planning.
