Pharmacist Assistant - Part Time Job Description

Metro Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in a part-time capacity. As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists in dispensary and pharmacy services, achieving company initiatives, and adhering to standards of practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Dispensing: Perform all aspects of the technical act of dispensing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Prescription Management: Receive prescription refill requests and verbal prescriptions, establishing and maintaining patient profiles.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer assistance with merchandise and at the cash register, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Inventory Management: Receive orders, ensure product matches invoices, and perform inventory-related tasks.
  • Administrative Support: Enter and reconcile invoices/credits, assist with dispensary paperwork, and maintain store standards and conditions.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Pharmacy Assistant Program education.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in retail pharmacy.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with current PC systems, MS Office programs, and pharmacy software.
  • Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, excellent customer service skills, receptive to constructive feedback, and initiative to identify and complete tasks independently.
Relationships:
  • Reporting Structure: Pharmacy Assistant receives direction from the Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacist, and Pharmacy Technician.
  • Interactions: Interacts with internal and external contacts.
