About the Role

We're seeking a skilled and driven engineer to join our team in Victoria, BC. As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you'll design and develop software and cloud-based infrastructure for an enterprise video service supporting media upload, processing, and playback at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software and cloud-based infrastructure for media upload, processing, and playback at scale.
  • Deliver user-focused, high-quality features while navigating and reducing complexity.
  • Contribute to process and tooling improvements, including systems for continuous integration and automated testing.
  • Own items from inception to delivery and measure how internal/external customers use our products/services.
  • Write and maintain proven, robust, efficient, and maintainable code in Python.
  • Write reliable unit and integration tests that run on our CD pipeline.
  • Architect, design, program, debug, and modify software enhancements.
  • Mentor and learn from other team members through pairing, code reviews, and Hackathons.

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience developing web applications and/or Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) products as part of a multi-functional team.
  • 4+ years of programming experience with Python, Java, JavaScript.
  • 3+ years of experience working with AWS services (e.g. Lambda, S3, ECS).

Our Approach to Flexible Work

We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role).

Workday Pay Transparency Statement

Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate's compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
