We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our team at ComForCare North York. As a PSW, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to our clients in the comfort of their own homes.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for providing various personal care and homemaker/companion services to our clients, including:
- Companionship and respite services
- Homemaking activities such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- Medication reminders and assistance
- Social skills and activities to promote client engagement and well-being
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A successful completion of a Provincial-approved Personal Support Worker course
- At least six months experience as a Caregiver (in homes or facilities)
- A Police Vulnerable Sector Reference Check or willingness to obtain within 6 months
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
- Ability to do light-cleaning and lifting (transferring clients, repositioning, and laundry)
- Ability to speak another language is an asset
- Obtained Food Handler's Certificate and able to cook well-balanced meals is an asset
- Driver's License (G) is an asset
