Position Overview

The Children First Society is dedicated to providing exceptional early childhood education within a culturally sensitive and inclusive environment. The Executive Director plays a pivotal role in overseeing the daily functions of the Children First Centre, ensuring a safe and nurturing atmosphere for both staff and children.

Key Responsibilities

The Executive Director will:

  • Manage the overall operations of the Centre, including compliance with legislative requirements and financial oversight.
  • Collaborate with families and external organizations to foster community relationships.
  • Support the volunteer Board of Directors in their governance role.
  • Lead the development and implementation of policies, programs, and strategic initiatives to enhance the Society's mission.
Facility Description

The Centre is housed in a state-of-the-art facility designed to accommodate up to 127 children, featuring:

  • A dedicated staff room
  • A fully equipped commercial kitchen
  • Six well-appointed classrooms
  • Administrative offices
  • An outdoor play area
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Public Administration, Health Administration, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in Early Childhood Education and management.
  • Demonstrated skills in human resources management, conflict resolution, and financial oversight.
  • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Project management expertise and cultural competency.
  • A solid understanding of relevant legislation and best practices in early childhood education.

A Master's Degree in a related field is preferred, and equivalencies will be considered. The successful candidate must also complete a satisfactory criminal records check and meet health screening requirements.

Compensation

The position offers a competitive salary of $95,000 annually, along with a Northern Allowance and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health coverage.
