Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the RoleWe are currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Mississauga, ON. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design deliverables using Company-approved systems and procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough reviews of project mechanical drawings to ensure compliance with design intent.
- Perform accurate engineering design and calculations.
- Interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications, and scopes.
- Provide professional support to the drafting team in preparing drawing deliverables.
- Develop technical documentation, including scopes of work and specifications, using relevant industry standards and guidelines.
- Produce accurate engineering lists, including equipment, lubrication, spares, valves, pipeline, and special work.
- Evaluate tenders and provide technical recommendations for purchasing mechanical equipment from vendors when necessary.
- Assist in delivering engineering documentation related to scope, quantities, cost, and schedule.
- Register and file all relevant engineering documentation according to Company-approved procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of the latest developments in industry codes, standards, and related engineering matters.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to meet project design criteria and deliverables.
- Contribute to engineers-in-training's professional development by providing mentoring and identifying areas for growth.
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 8+ years of post-graduate experience in Mineral Processing or Metallurgical plant design.
- Solid technical aptitude, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision while consistently producing high-quality deliverables.
- Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and commitment.
The estimated annual salary for this role is approximately $120,000-$150,000 CAD, depending on qualifications and experience.
