Salary:

The estimated annual salary for this position ranges from $61,838 to $108,458, based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

Job Description:

">

As a social studies and English language learning educator, your primary responsibility will be to design and deliver high-quality instruction that meets the diverse needs of students. This includes creating inquiry-based learning experiences that explore big ideas and concepts, allowing students to thrive in an environment of complex knowledge construction. You will also be expected to facilitate student learning beyond the four walls of a classroom, using technology to support language acquisition and develop authentic assessment strategies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • ">
  • Familiarity with IELTS instruction">
  • Familiarity with the BC ELL Standards">
  • Experience teaching ELL learners at the secondary level">
  • Experience using technology to facilitate language acquisition">
  • Eligibility for the Abbotsford Academic English Language Program certificate">
  • Major or minor in History or related Social Science, Inclusive Education">
  • Experience teaching Social Studies and World History at the secondary level">
  • Practicum and/or work experience in Special Education at the secondary level">
  • Case management experience required">
  • Training and experience with Level B Assessments (e.g., KBIT2/KTEA III)">
  • Non-violent crisis intervention certification">
  • Eligibility for B.C. Certification">
