The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Content Specialist to join our dynamic marketing team. As a Content Specialist, you will play a crucial role in crafting captivating content that resonates with our target audiences. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that the content aligns seamlessly with brand messaging and effectively conveys key messages across multiple platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development of the annual marketing plan, strategically aligned with Conexus' overall business objectives, purpose, values, and brand.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and maintain a content calendar, ensuring a consistent and cohesive content strategy across owned channels.
  • Create unique and impactful written content for various marketing and communication materials, including advertisements, website content, blog posts, social media posts, email campaigns, product descriptions, and annual reports.
  • Write and edit long and short-form content for various projects, including print, online, blog, advertising, video, social media, sales tools, speeches, and annual reports.
  • Proofread content to ensure consistency and accuracy.
  • Develop our social media purpose and strategy in consultation with growth marketing, member experience, brand, and sales teams.
  • Identify and utilize prime channel opportunities for all brands.
  • Deliver engaging and successful social media plans and initiatives with support from Marketing Coordinators.
  • Analyze performance metrics and stay current with social media trends to achieve Conexus's social media goals.
  • Generate creative concepts and collaborate on ideas for marketing campaigns that capture attention and resonate with target audiences.
  • Collaborate with growth and brand marketing teams to brainstorm ideas, develop concepts, and articulate messaging that aligns with departmental strategies.
  • Create engaging and relevant content for Conexus platforms, including text, images, video content, infographics, and other multimedia assets.
  • Conduct research to gather information, statistics, and industry insights to inform content development.
  • Analyze and gain insights to understand our target audience's preferences, behaviors, and needs to create content that effectively speaks to them.
  • Research and interview stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and leverage marketing technology as per the role's requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a relevant or related industry.
  • Post-secondary degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or a related field, or a relevant combination of experience and post-secondary education.
  • Proven experience in social media management, media relations, public relations, or communications roles, with a focus on media strategy and relationship management, or related roles.
  • Proven experience as a copywriter, content creator, or related role.
  • Proficiency in using social media platforms, scheduling tools, media monitoring, and analytics tools to assess coverage, engagement, and track campaign performance.
  • Proficiency in research to gather information for content development.

  • A competitive salary range of $68,180 - $85,220 with a 9% Short Term Incentive Target.
