Protection Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Protection Specialist to join our team at the National Arts Centre. This is a key role that requires exceptional customer service skills, strong communication and interpersonal abilities, as well as the ability to work under pressure and react quickly in emergency situations.
Key Responsibilities- Provide information to artists, visiting public, and staff on security matters;
- Attend to the central command office, documenting all routine activities on the Security Management Software;
- Monitor fire alarm panels and video surveillance cameras, accessing the control system and sensor and motion alarms;
- Direct pedestrian and vehicle traffic, administering building keys and access Fobs;
- Respond to emergency and first aid calls, patrolling the Centre during all hours especially during performance times;
- Control crowds and secure all doors and entrances.
- A high school education or equivalent, with a College diploma in Law & Security being an asset;
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, CCTV, and Security Management Software;
- The ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to eight hours;
- The ability to follow directions and work with limited supervision;
- Excellent interpersonal skills, tact, and discretion when interacting with patrons;
- Fluently bilingual in both official languages (English and French) with strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- A past record of satisfactory attendance and punctuality is essential.
The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
