Job Summary

The Registered Nurse/Infirmier is a key member of the healthcare team at Southern Health-Santé Sud, responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support in various settings, including acute, transitional, and home care. This role requires a strong commitment to delivering people-centered care, working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, and maintaining a high level of professionalism and expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply the nursing process to support clients/residents/patients in achieving and maintaining their optimum level of health.
  • Work to full scope of practice, engaging in ongoing education and maintaining competency congruent with Southern Health-Santé Sud policies, Professional Standards of Practice, and regulatory requirements.
  • Exercise independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods, and action to be taken on unusual matters.
  • Function in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Southern Health-Santé Sud.
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in both official languages (English/French) is essential.
  • Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) and the scope of practice as defined by the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) certification and Trauma Nursing Care Course (TNCC) certification.
  • Knowledge of Professional Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative interdisciplinary environment, establish and maintain positive working relationships, and lead and make decisions autonomously.
  • Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to meet the demands of the position.
Conditions of Employment
  • Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check, and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate.
  • Immunization is required as a condition of employment in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policy.
