Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP is a leading business law firm in Canada, advising corporate leaders and international parties with interests in Canada. Our team of over 1,000 professionals is based in offices across the country and in New York.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Writer/Editor to join our Content Marketing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and editing content to support our marketing and communication objectives. This role will work closely with our practice groups to edit and develop content that promotes our expertise online and in print.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage new content postings on our website, working directly with law firm partners to edit and publish thought leadership articles and blog posts.
  • Edit and/or write event invitations, social media copy, practice newsletters, brochures, expertise pages, and other web content.
  • Work directly with practice groups or business development leads to develop content that meets their needs.
  • Liaise with our translation department for French language content.
  • Proofread for accuracy and in accordance with our writing style guidelines.
  • Maintain records and files of work and revisions.
  • Ensure proper tagging and cross-promotion of content on our website.
  • Post content to our website using WordPress.
  • Review website content regularly to ensure information is current.
Requirements

This role requires a university degree in Communications, Journalism, or English, plus a minimum of three years' related copy editing and content creation experience. Previous experience in a professional services firm is an asset.

We are looking for a candidate with excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, as well as experience writing engaging copy for social media. Critical and strategic thinking skills, with an aptitude for problem-solving, are essential. Proficiency with MS Office and knowledge of WordPress are also required.
