Cardiology Technologist Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cardiology Technologist to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a Cardiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, holter and/or event monitor testing, and Ambulatory Blood Pressure (ABP) testing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform ECG testing, stress testing, holter and/or event monitor testing, and ABP testing.
  • Explain procedures and answer patient questions in preparation for testing.
  • Scan and analyze ECG, stress, and holter monitor test strips; select and assess portions of test strips and summarize for interpretation by medical staff.
  • Enter patient test information into Meditech to provide Electronic Health Records database for client/patient files.
  • Maintain appropriate files and reports according to established department procedures/policies.
  • Demonstrate ECG testing procedures and operation of related equipment to students and new staff.
  • Provide orientation and training to ECG staff and other hospital staff as directed.
  • Maintain equipment by cleaning, lubricating, and replacing items as required; complete requisitions for repair using established procedures.
  • Distribute patient reports to appropriate wards and/or departments.
  • Provide input and assist with the development, implementation, and update of department policies and procedures.
Qualifications:

Completion of a recognized Cardiology Technology Program at the Diploma level plus two (2) years recent related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) certified.
